09.07.07 Some Rivals Play in Week Number Four of the High School Football Season
We usually focus on the games involving ranked teams. From the start of Indiana Sports Talk, I have tried to talk about as many of those types of games as possible. However, for this week’s post on the blog, I want to look at some good match-ups with teams who are rivals, but both are not ranked. Start in Bloomington where South will host North. Both teams are 2-1, South was ranked in the Coaches Poll until last week’s loss to Franklin Central, so a lot of elements are in place to make this a tremendous game. The battle for Putnam County is always a good on as South Putnam travels to North Putnam. The records might not indicate it ( North Putnam is 3-0 and ranked 3rd in 2A, South Putnam is 0-3), but you know this will be a very emotional game. The Eastern Greene and Crawford County game is one in which both teams are looking for their first win of the season. Without question, emotions will be high at this game and it will definitely have a tournament-like feel. Make sure you tune to Indiana Sports talk on Friday and Saturday nights for all of the scores and conversations of high school and college football, and thanks for logging on to indianasportstalk.com.
