09.20.07 Let's Talk About College Football

Football fans are energized this time of year. High school football goes into week six, the draw is October 9th (Paul Condry and I will bring you that show live), the Colts are undefeated and heading into week three of their sesaon. In college football, this is another big weekend. Ball State heads to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska ‘Huskers. The Cardinal beat Navy on the road in OT last week, and I do not need to remind you of how Nebraska played. IU and Purdue open up Big Ten play at 3-0, The Boilers at Minnesota at 9:00pm, and the Hoosiers with a tough one at home at noon against Illinois. I won’t pile on Notre Dame, they playat home against Michigan State at 3:30. Wabash is 2-0 and they go to Ohio Wesleyan, DePauw is 2-0 and they go Sewanee, St. Francis is 2-0 and they travel to St. Ambrose. The best story of college football in Indiana might be the Butler Bulldogs. Jeff Voorhis’ team is 3-0 for the first time since 1991, and they play at home at the Butler Bowl at 1:00pm against Missouri-Rolla. The remainder of the schedule is UIndynat St. Joseph’s, Valparaiso at Marian, Tri-State at Franklin, Hiram at manchester, Eastern Illinois at Indiana state, and North Park at Rose-Hulman. I don’t think you can beat going to a college football game on Saturday, and there are plentynof great options. Make sure you listen to the show this weekend as we talk about a number of these games.
