01.23.09 Bob, where have you been?
Where do I start? It has been since football season that I have done a blog, and that is not how I am supposed to be on this website.
I am technologically challenged, but that is indeed no excuse. As a former coach, I ask for and will take no excuses.
Also, as a former coach, I tend to look forward, and with that, let’s take a look at basketball around the state.
I post a blog on IHSAASPORTS.ORG earlier in the week ( I know what you are asking, how can he do that blog and not this? No answer), and in that blog, I spend time talking about high school basketball around the state. Click here to check it out.
As a reminder, Chris May and I will be bring you the live broadcast of the IHSAA Girls Basketball State Championship Pairings Show on Thursday, January 29th at 7:00 pm (EST).
However, in college basketball this weekend, the Butler Bulldogs can really get some separation in the Horizon League standings with a win over UW_-Milwaukee at Hinkle on Saturday. With the win over Green Bay and Valpo’s win over Milwaukee, the Dogs could at least get a two game edge after the first half of League play.
There is a three-way tie for first in the Mid-Central Conference, and the key game this weekend is the Grace at Bethel shoot-out.
One of the best games in the country has to be UConn at Notre Dame Saturday night. National audience, and a game the Irish need to win to stop a two game slide, because they go to Marquette on Monday and to Pitt on Saturday. That is life in the Big East.
I also like the Hanover at Defiance game. Hanover Coach John Miller coached at Defiance prior to returning to his alma mater, and I personally know how hard it is to coach against your old school.
Sorry I have been away, and hope you will log on next week, and hope you continue to listen to Indiana Sports Talk.
